A master's working day

An app for nail technicians

What an app for a nail technician should do: a calendar with real service durations, a client card with allergies and history, repeat bookings and a page with photos of your work. And which of it Beauty Booking already has.

What app does a nail technician need?

A nail technician needs one app that holds the booking calendar, a card for every client with allergy notes and visit history, services with their own durations, and a page where clients see photos of the work and book on their own. Beauty Booking is built for exactly this: an iPhone app and a web back office for the master, while clients book for free on the master's web page or in the Telegram bot, with nothing to install.

Below is what matters specifically in nail work, and how to cover it without a paper notebook and chats spread across several messengers.

Why does nail work need exact service durations?

A gel polish manicure, extensions and a fill take very different amounts of time, and that is exactly why a paper calendar breaks so easily. Put extensions into a slot sized for gel polish, and the next client waits.

How long each service takes depends on the technique and designs of the particular master, so a one-size figure does more harm than good. It is more useful to time your real work on each service and enter that in your catalog. Removing the old coating deserves its own allowance: the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) says that to remove gel polish the fingertips are soaked in acetone, and after about 15 minutes the polish should slide off easily (https://www.aad.org/public/everyday-care/nail-care-secrets/basics/pedicures/gel-manicures, page viewed in November 2026).

How Beauty Booking handles it:

  • every service has its own duration, and a booking takes up as much calendar time as the chosen services last;
  • you can add buffer time for cleaning up after a client, so there is a window between visits to disinfect your tools;
  • a client on your page sees how long a service takes before booking.
2-3 weeksbetween acrylic nail fills, per Cleveland Clinic

How often do clients come back for a fill?

Fills are the reason nail work runs on regular clients. Cleveland Clinic writes that acrylic nails can last up to eight weeks, but they need a fill every two to three weeks (https://health.clevelandclinic.org/are-acrylic-nails-bad-for-you, article from April 2024, viewed in November 2026). The reason is simple: the nail grows. According to Germany's Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG), fingernails grow about 3 millimeters a month (https://www.informedhealth.org/in-brief-copy_8033.html, updated in July 2024).

For your calendar, this means a regular client's next visit is predictable, and it is easy to book before the client leaves.

How do you book regular clients ahead?

In Beauty Booking a booking can repeat: every week, every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks. If the rhythm is irregular, you can add several dates of your own at once - each becomes a separate booking you can later change on its own.

That way a regular client leaves with the next date already set, and you see how full the coming weeks are. If the time stops working for the client, the visit is moved rather than lost.

What goes into a client card?

In nail work a note about a client is not a formality. An allergy to a certain material, a sensitive cuticle, a favorite shape and length, last time's color - you want to know all of it before the client sits down at your table.

What a client card in Beauty Booking holds:

  • a private note for allergies, preferences and color formulas that only you see;
  • the note's change history: when you edit it, every earlier version is kept;
  • the client's visit history;
  • one before photo and one after photo on each visit, both optional; they stay on the visit and in the client's history.

A client who books online can also leave a note with the request, for example about allergies or that this is a first visit.

How do you show your work to clients?

In nail work, photos of past work often count for more than a service description: clients choose a master with their eyes. Beauty Booking has a portfolio, shown on the master's public page next to the services, prices, free times and address.

The page has an address like https://www.beauty-booking.biz/en/w/number_name, and you can put it in your social media profile or send it in a messenger. The client picks a service and a free time, and you get a request: you confirm it, offer another time or decline it. No online booking lands in your calendar without your consent.

How much does it cost?

As of November 2026, according to the pricing page https://www.beauty-booking.biz/en/pro/pricing:

  • Free - the first 50 appointments are free; it is a private work tool, and clients cannot yet find your page and book;
  • Lite - $3.33 a month with yearly billing ($39.99 a year) or $4.99 paid month to month; for a master who works alone, with no appointment limit and a public page for online booking;
  • Pro - $6.67 a month with yearly billing ($79.99 a year) or $9.99 a month; everything in Lite plus a salon, one price for the whole salon no matter how many masters it has.

Every paid plan starts with a free month. There is no commission on bookings: you pay only for the plan. Prices are in US dollars, the same as in the App Store in Ukraine.

What doesn't Beauty Booking have yet?

The limits, stated plainly, so you do not discover them after installing:

  • the master app is iPhone only; there is no Android app yet, but there is a web back office that opens in a browser;
  • there is no online payment or prepayment through the app; a prepayment or deposit received directly can be noted on the booking itself;
  • clients cannot yet search for masters nearby on a map or by free time, and there are no reviews of masters - a client reaches your page through your link.

If you specifically need online payment or finding clients through a directory, it is worth looking at other services that already have them.

Where to start?

Install the Beauty Booking Pro app from the App Store (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6737522973), add your services with their real durations, move your regular clients over with their allergy notes, and set up repeat bookings for them right away. When you want to take online bookings, add photos of your work to the portfolio and share the link to your page.
