Choosing an app

An app for hairdressers and barbers

What a booking app has to handle when the day is packed, a cut is short and a colour takes hours, and which of it Beauty Booking does.

Which app suits a hairdresser or a barber?

A hairdresser or a barber needs an app where every service has its own duration, the calendar keeps the time between clients for you, and clients book online without calling. If you work in a salon, it also matters who runs the bookings and who sees what. Beauty Booking covers this for a master with an iPhone: a duration and clean-up time for each service, several workplaces, a salon mode, and client booking through a web page or Telegram.

How do you fit cuts and colours of different lengths into one day?

A men's cut, a cut with styling and a complex colour take very different amounts of time, so one "standard hour" for everything does not work. In Beauty Booking each service has its own duration and, separately, a clean-up time that only you see. The calendar books both, so the next client does not sit down in the chair while you are still sweeping up hair.

  • Duration: what the client sees and books.
  • Clean-up: the buffer between clients, visible only to you.
  • Long services, such as colouring, simply take a bigger block in the calendar.

If a colour can be short or long, make two separate services, each with its own duration and price. That way the client picks the real option, and the calendar does not swallow extra time.

How do you stay on top of a packed schedule?

An online booking in Beauty Booking is always a request that you confirm, decline or answer with another time. The client can only pick free time within your working hours, so there are no clashes from booking blind. You can also add a client by hand, for example someone who phoned.

The app warns but does not forbid: if you deliberately put a client over another booking or outside working hours, that is your call.

What if you work in more than one place?

Many barbers and hairdressers work, for example, in a barbershop on some days and see clients at home or in a studio on others. In Beauty Booking you can add several workplaces, each with its own address, services and prices. The calendar's time zone is set from the workplace address.

How does salon mode work?

Salon mode is part of the Pro plan. Any master can create a salon, and that person becomes its administrator. The administrator runs all bookings, sets the masters' schedules, manages services and prices, and sees all of the salon's money.

  • A master in a salon sees only the bookings made with them, and does not see other people's calendars or takings.
  • The administrator keeps the client cards in a salon; a master sees them for their own clients but does not edit them.
  • A master's personal clients and the salon's clients are stored separately and never mix.
  • One Pro plan covers the whole salon, however many masters work there.

How much does it cost?

As of November 2026 the Free plan gives you the first 50 appointments and works as a personal work tool: online booking by clients is not open on it yet. After that comes a paid plan, and each one starts with a free month.

  • Lite, for working without a team: $3.33 a month billed yearly ($39.99 up front) or $4.99 if you pay month to month. No limit on appointments, with a public page for online booking.
  • Pro, with salon mode: $6.67 a month billed yearly ($79.99) or $9.99 month to month, one price for the whole salon.

Prices are in US dollars, as in the App Store. There is no commission on bookings, and clients book for free. All payment terms are on https://www.beauty-booking.biz/en/pro/pricing

How do clients book?

Clients do not need to install anything. They open your public page with services, prices and free time, or message the Beauty Booking Telegram bot, pick a service and a time, and send a request. The link to your page fits well in your Instagram profile or in a message to regular clients.

Where are other apps stronger?

An honest look at what Beauty Booking does not have yet and where other services give more.

  • Android. The master app is iPhone only, plus a web back office. Altegio's team app is in the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery (Altegio help centre, as of November 2026: https://alteg.io/en/support/knowledge-base/4904663657501-Employee-mobile-app).
  • Finding new clients. Beauty Booking has no catalogue or map of masters and no client reviews. Booksy has a marketplace and a client app, Booksy for Customers, where people can find a master and book (Booksy US pricing page, as of November 2026: https://biz.booksy.com/en-us/pricing).
  • Online payment and prepayment. A visit cannot be paid through Beauty Booking; you take a prepayment your own way and note it on the client.
  • A large salon with a front desk. In Altegio you can give each staff member access to their own bookings only and stop specific users from editing bookings. These are finer access settings than Beauty Booking's simple salon mode.

Price differs too. As of November 2026 Booksy in the US costs $29.99 a month plus tax and $20 a month for each additional master, with a 14-day trial. Altegio's price depends on team size and licence term, and its trial is 7 days with no card (https://alteg.io/uk/pricing/).

Who is Beauty Booking best for?

Hairdressers and barbers with an iPhone who work on their own or in a small salon, want the whole day in one calendar and do not want to pay commission on bookings. If you need Android, online payment or a stream of new clients from a marketplace, it is worth looking at other services as well. You can start on the Free plan: https://www.beauty-booking.biz/en/pro
